You Are Not Alone

Many people find social situations deeply uncomfortable — worrying about what others think, feeling self-conscious in conversations, or holding back from experiences out of fear of judgment or rejection. Over time, these feelings can quietly shrink the life you want to live.

Social anxiety is more common than most people realize, and it often comes hand in hand with feelings of shame, self-doubt, or a sense of not quite belonging. If any of this feels familiar, this group may be a good fit for you.

About the Group

The Social Anxiety Recovery Group is a small, open group that meets weekly in a warm and nonjudgmental setting. Each session offers a space to slow down, be honest about your experiences, and practice showing up — not perfectly, but authentically.

Much of social anxiety is rooted not just in the present moment, but in deeply held beliefs about who we are and how others see us — beliefs that often formed long before we had the words to question them. In this group, we gently explore where those beliefs came from, how they continue to shape our thoughts and behaviors today, and what it might feel like to relate to ourselves and others differently.

Group therapy is uniquely powerful for social anxiety because the group itself becomes a place to practice. Members often find that simply being in the room, sharing something real, and being met with understanding begins to shift something — not all at once, but gradually, in ways that carry into everyday life.

What the Group May Offer

While every member's journey is different, the group tends to offer a space where people can gently explore:

  • The deeper patterns and core beliefs that quietly drive social anxiety
  • How early experiences may have shaped the way you see yourself and others
  • The unmet emotional needs beneath feelings of shame, fear, or self-doubt
  • More compassionate ways of responding to your inner critic
  • A greater sense of ease and self-acceptance in social situations
  • The experience of being truly seen and accepted by others
  • New ways of relating — breaking free from old patterns that no longer serve you
  • Courage to express thoughts and feelings more freely and authentically

Growth in this group is not about becoming a different person — it is about understanding yourself more deeply, and feeling more free to be who you truly are.
